This semester for class I had to write an episode for an existing TV show. I decided to write an episode for Arrow. This episode takes place after "Seeing Red". This is a Thea centric episode. I explore her reaction to Moira's death and the return of her father, Malcolm Merlyn. Other sub plots are with the Arrow Team and Roy. Oliver and the Arrow team try to find Thea and we also see Oliver's reaction to Moira's death. This episode Roy leaves town and finds a new home in Gotham.

INT. VERDANT - NIGHT
Thea and Sara are at the bar. Sara is checking her phone and Thea is preparing a drink for the last customer in the night club.
Thea hands the drink to the man. Thea starts to gather her things and leaves the bar.
THEA Sara once this guy leaves, can you
close up the club?
SARA No problem.
THEA I am going to head home.
SARA I don’t want you to walk by
yourself. Do you want to wait for me?
THEA It’s okay Sara. I will be fine.
Thanks for the offer though. I just need to clear my head.
SARA Just call me if you need anything.
Thea waves her cell phone around.
THEA Got yeah.
Thea leaves the bar.
EXT. DARK ALLEY - NIGHT
Thea walks down a dark alley. Smoke fills the street. Thea holds her pocketbook close to her. Thea sees a dark shadow from the corner of her eye.
She keeps her composure and turns the other direction. Thea hears a voice calling out to her.
Thea now starts to run. She hits a dead end. Malcolm comes out of the shadows.
MALCOLM Hello Thea.
Thea looks shocked.
THEA How are you still alive? You died
when the Glades were destroyed.
MALCOLM You can’t trust everything you hear
Thea, but I am sure you know that more than anyone.
THEA I don’t know if I am more shocked
that you are alive or if you would have the nerve to show your face after killing hundreds of people.
MALCOLM I have been hiding in the shadows.
I wanted to make my appearance when the time was right. What is more important than seeing my only daughter?
Thea stares at Malcolm and doesn’t make a sound.
MALCOLM I see, so you already knew that I
was your father. Your mother must have told you. I knew your mother wasn’t a total coward.
Thea starts to shout at Malcolm.
THEA My mother is not a coward. She
didn’t tell me the truth to protect me from you.
MALCOLM If your mother didn’t tell you then who did?
THEA Slade Wilson...
Thea stops for a moment and starts to break down.
THEA That monster. He killed her in
front of my eyes. Touched the blade with her blood onto my face. He killed her!
Malcolm grabs Thea before she falls to the ground.
MALCOLM I am sorry Thea. You shouldn’t have
to go through this. You need to know, that your mother and I may have had a very complicated relationship, but was Moira still an important person in my life also.
Malcolm holds Thea tight. He starts to get up.
THEA That is the first time I said it
out loud. My mother is dead. I know Oliver knows something about Slade, but he won’t open up.
MALCOLM You just want closure.
THEA My mother wasn’t the perfect woman,
I know that more than anyone. But that doesn’t mean she deserved to die. I just want to know why this had to happen to us. I am an orphan that has lost everything.
MALCOLM You feel alone Thea, but you are
not an orphan. You have me and I am your father. Come with me. We have to catch up on lost time. Together we will honor Moira’s life. You may despise me, but at least I will tell you the truth.(beat) Thea are you ready for the whole truth.
Malcolm holds out his hand for Thea. She gets off of her knees and grabs Malcolm’s hand.
INT. STARLING CITY PREP SCHOOL CLASSROOM - DAY (FLASHBACK)
Thea sits in a classroom. She starts to write some final notes.
MR. WINNICK We are going to have a test on
Othello this Friday. Remember one essay question. Come on guys we are learning Shakespeare you should be more excited about this.
STUDENT #1 Mr. Winnick can you give us a hint
on what the essay will be on.
MR. WINNICK Be sure to know the major themes of
the book. Especially with Iago and the lies he tells the people around him. If you study that you should be fine.
The bell rings and everyone starts to get out of their seats.
MR. WINNICK Be sure to study kids. I want to
see everyone get an A on this one.
Thea starts to get up from her desk. Shannon walks towards Thea.
SHANNON Are you going to Trig next period?
THEA I am going to probably skip it.
Four classes are enough for me today.
SHANNON Same here, we will hang out in a
few. I just got to tell Kara to skip gym, which Coach Simmons is a total zombie anyways she would never even notice.
Shannon leaves. Thea picks up her books and passes Mr. Winnick’s desk.
MR. WINNICK Can I talk to you for a secondThea?
THEA Sure Mr. Winnick.
MR. WINNICK I have noticed your grades have
been slipping. You used to be one of my best students. Always raised your hand and now you just sit in the back of the room half asleep. I know everything that has happened to you in the past couple of months have been tough. I lost my father at a young age also. My grades slipped and I needed focus.
THEA (sarcastically) And how do you
suggest I gain focus?
MR WINNICK When I lost my father I turned to
archery. It is not just a physical sport, but a mental one. I think it would help you. I am the coach of the team so it would be easy to get you situated.
Mr. Winnick pulls out a flier advertising the archery team.
THEA Honestly, I am fine Mr. Winnick. I
don’t think I need to join the archery team.
MR WINNICK How about if I make you an offer
you can’t refuse?
THEA That was really cheesy.
MR WINNICK You get extra credit if you join
the team. It will allow you to pass my class.
Mr. Winnick gives Thea the flier. She grabs it and puts the paper in her bag.
THEA Thanks for the talk. I will reallyconsider it.
EXT. GOTHAM CITY ROY’S CAR - NIGHT
Gotham is dark and gloomy. Police sirens can be heard every where. Roy parks his red sports car. He gets out of his car.
Two muggers pull a gun on him. You see the rage in Roy’s eyes.
MUGGER #2 Give us the keys.
MUGGERS #1 Or else your head gets blown off.
A woman with a white mask comes out of the dark. CHESHIRE in her early 20s is wearing green and looks very fit. She has two swords on her back.
She takes the two swords off her back and points them to the two men’s necks.
CHESHIRE He’s with me.
The mugger has fear in his voice.
MUGGER #1 Whatever you say Cheshire.
The two muggers run away. The rage leaves Roy’s eyes.
ROY Thanks for that, but I could have
handled it myself.
CHESSIRE I know, but I thought this would be
the best way to introduce myself.
ROY Why did you help me anyways?
CHESHIRE I like you and I think we can be
ROY You don’t even know me.
CHESHIRE I want to get to know you, and I
might be able to teach you a thing or two about Gotham City.
She takes out her two swords and puts one against him in a non threatning matter.
CHESHIRE What do you say? How about if I
become your personal guide to Gotham City?
ROY Well I am new to this town.
EXT. ON THE ROOFTOPS OF GOTHAM CITY - NIGHT Roy and Cheshire make it to the top of a rooftop.
ROY Why did you take me here?
CHESHIRE This is how most masked people in
Gotham City travel. Also if you get past all of the fog it is kind of nice up here.
Cheshire jumps to the next rooftop. Cheshire turns to Roy, who is still on the other rooftop.
CHESHIRE Come on Jump!
Roy gets a running start and jumps onto the next rooftop.
CHESHIRE See told you, you could do it.
Roy starts to run ahead.
ROY Now you going to have try and catch
up with me. Cheshire follows Roy.
CHESHIRE How are you liking Gotham so far?
ROY I have only been here a total of a
hour, but it seems like a place that doesn’t judge you. I need a city to make a new start. Maybe Gotham is that city. But at the same time I don’t really get this city. You hear so many stories about the doom and gloom, but it doesn’t seem so bad from up here.
CHESHIRE You came on a good night, but if
you are going to be a permanent visitor you will learn that this place can make you go mad. We are all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.
ROY I am not mad?
CHESHIRE You must be or you woudn’t havecome here.
Cheshire looks down at the building next to them. She stops in her tracks.
ROY Why are we stopping?
CHESHIRE We’re here.
ROY I didn’t know we had a here to be.
CHESHIRE I have a little side thing I have
to do, but I don’t want to bore you. You can wait here if you want.
ROY It looks like fun, I want to help.
What do we have to do?
Cheshire points to the building next to them. Two men talking to each other crowd the window.
CHESHIRE There are men in that building.
They stole something and I just want to return it to its rightful owners.
ROY What did they steal?
CHESHIRE A gun that I hear is pretty
important. I don’t know what it does. Just know that the people I am returning it to need it.
Roy starts to run towards the building.
ROY So, what are you waiting for? Don’t
you want to get your gun thing? Cheshire follows Roy into the building.
INT. LARGE BUILDING IN GOTHAM - NIGHT
The two men are talking to each other. They are all armed guarding a large silver weapon.
GUARD #1 Do you know what this gun evendoes?
GUARD #2 Nah, just know the boss needs it.
Roy and Cheshire crash through the window. The Guards start to point their guns at Roy and Cheshire.
Before the men are able to shoot. Cheshire swipes her sword against one of the Guard’s throughts. Roy slams the other to the wall. Cheshire puts her sword in his chest.
Blood is everywhere.Cheshire grabs the gun.
ROY You didn’t have to kill them?
CHESHIRE They’re bad men Roy, they deserved
to die. With your strength I am sure you could do worse.
ROY I would never kill anyone? They
might have families.
CHESHIRE Like you said, your new to this
thing. If you were in the game as long as I have been you learn that there are no other options.
ROY You had an option here.
CHESHIRE Yes, tonight I did. But how about
if they went back to their boss told them who we were. We probably would regret that with our next meeting. Wouldn’t we? So, yes death is always nessicary.
A siren starts to go off in the building.
CHESHIRE Come on, lets get out of here.
Cheshire jumps out of the building with her grapple gun in place. Roy follows.
EXT. ABANDONED LOT - NIGHT
Black Canary and The Hood meet up in a abandoned lot and encounter Isabel Rasputin/Ravager. She is dressed up in a similar outfit to Deathstroke.
Black Canary and The Hood are shocked to see Isabel is still alive.
They go in hand to hand combat as they start a conversation.
THE HOOD/OLIVER I thought you were dead.
ISABEL Didn’t take.
BLACK CANARY/SARA They injected you with themirakuru.
ISABEL Wow, Ollie you are sleeping with a
smart one. Sara I know your more brawn than brains. But at least try to pretend. Ollie had more fun with me because I am both.
Isabel takes a swing for Sara. Sara ducks and weakens Isabel.
THE HOOD/OLIVERNice shot.
BLACK CANARY/SARA It looks like that I am alot
smarter than her. She should have kept her mouth shut.
Isabel still able to talk.
ISABEL Don’t think you are so brilliant
yet. Look around you.
Ravager’s back up comes onto the scene. Two men injected with mirakuru, wearing deathstroke masks start to swing at both Black Canary and The Hood. They are deep in combat. The mirakuru men are not backing down. They are not being overcome by Black Canary and The Hood’s efforts.
The hood uses a trick arrow, smoke fills the air. Black Canary and The Hood are able to knock out both mirakuru men.
In the mix of this Isabel leaves the scene.
The smoke clears and Slade comes face to face with Black Canary and The Hood.
The Hood takes off his mask to show his face. Oliver’s eyes are filled with rage. He runs straight to Slade. Brings him to the ground and continuously punches at his face. It is not hurting Slade.
Slade pushes Oliver off of him. Oliver lands on his back and he shows pain on his face.
SLADE I don’t want to fight. I came here
to tell you something.
OLIVER I don’t want to hear a word you
have to say. You killed my mother (MORE)
OLIVER (cont’d) and you will pay for hurting my
family! Black Canary holds Oliver back from hitting Slade again.
SLADE You can’t kill me, don’t you want
to know where your precious sister is?
THE HOOD/OLIVER What did you do to her? If you even
touch her, you are dead!
SLADE This has nothing to do with me. I
just thought you would like to know that Malcolm Merlyn is back in town.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Malcolm is dead. I put an arrow
through his chest.
SLADE He survived and he is getting comfy
with Thea. I may be your enemy Oliver, but there is no value of lieing to you.
Slade starts to walk away. The hood shots an arrow at Slade, but he easily deflects it and escapes the scene.
INT. ARROW CAVE - NIGHT
Felicity and Digg are surrounding the computer. They are eating take out and making small talk.
FELICITY Maybe we should find a new Chineseplace.
DIGG I think this is pretty good.
FELICITY Not when you have it every night
for two weeks straight. I don’t think any person should consume that much ramen noodles.
Oliver and Sara burst into the Arrow cave. Felicity and Digg end their conversation. They turn towards Oliver.
OLIVER Malcolm Merlyn is alive!
FELCITY Malcolm Merlyn who destroyed the
Glades, that Malcolm Merlyn? Why do you think he is alive?
SARA We ran into Slade tonight. He told
us that Malcolm was alive and has Thea.
DIGG Why trust Slade? How do we know he
is telling the truth?
OLIVER We don’t know. But I can’t lose
anyone else. If I lose Thea I will never forgive myself. Losing Thea isn’t an option. I have no other options, I have to trust Slade is telling the truth.
FELICITY And Slade knows that, Oliver. You
are probably falling for another one of his tricks.
Oliver stops for a beat.
FELICITY Oliver, I am sorry. You couldn’t do
anything to prevent Moira’s death. But because of your grief you are jumping into this blind and that can get Thea hurt.
DIGG Then what do we do?
FELICITY Figure out if Slade is telling the
truth and then find out Slade’s motive. We have to figure out why Slade will tell Oliver the truth. It has to be part of a bigger plan.
Felicity turn to her computer.
FELICITY Maybe Malcom left some sort of
trail. If we are lucky he could have been sloppy through out the months. You and Sara should ask around, vigilante style.
Sara takes out her staff.
SARA Good idea.
Sara turns to Oliver.
SARA Don’t worry we will figure thisout.
OLIVER We better.
Oliver and Sara leave the Arrow cave. Felicity starts typing on her computer. Digg helps Felicity.
DIGG Do you think Oliver is getting over
his head? Getting his emotions get the best of him.
FELICITY He got over his head a long time
ago. All we can do is help him from drowning.
Felicity continues to work on the computer.
INT. QUEEN MANSION - NIGHT (FLASHBACK)
Thea and Moira sit at a long table. Moria up at front and Thea on the other side. They both eat their dinner silently. Until Moira speaks up.
MOIRA How was school today, Thea?
Thea picks at her food.
THEA It was fine.
MOIRA That’s great to hear.
They both continue to sit in silence.
THEA Well...um actually my teacher asked
me to join the archery team and I am thinking about it.
MOIRA Thea, do you really think its the
right time to put yourself in any extra activities right now? You know with everything going on. I just don’t think you have enough time for it.
THEA I do think it’s the right time. I
am actually interested in doing something positive, and besides I need the extra credit.
MOIRA Why would you need the extra
credit, Thea? You are an A student.
THEA Actually if I don’t take this I am
going to fail English.
MOIRA Why didn’t you tell me this?
THEA We never really talk mom. I never
had the chance to tell you. Another beat.
THEA Mom I miss them too, but they’re
not coming back. We have to move on with our lives. This could be a good start.
MOIRA This has nothing to do with Oliver
and your father. This has to do with your family obligations. Now that Oliver is (beat) gone you will have to take over the company one day.
THEA Who said I wanted to take over the
company? How about if I want to be a doctor or lawyer like Laurel. I am not fit to be a CEO. I never wanted to take over the family business. You always said you would support me in what I wanted to do, but I guess I was wrong.
MOIRA We aren’t having this conversationright now.
THEA Why can’t I just do something I
enjoy for once. Do you know how much I suffered with Ollie and dad’s death? I just need something to help me move on. This could be my anchor.
MOIRA I have been trying to keep this
THEA And that’s fine, but in the process
I want somewhat of a normal life.
MOIRA That’s impossible, your a Queen.
You will never be normal.
THEA Why can’t we ever talk about it?
MOIRA Talk about what?
THEA Ollie and Dad! Everytime we bring
them up we get into a screaming match and then pretend like it never happened the next morning. We need to talk about it to heal. I need to talk about it!
MOIRA I miss them Thea. (beat) A mother
shouldn’t out live her children. (MORE)
MOIRA (cont’d) And you are right I have been
ignoring the subject hoping that their death was just a nightmare that I could wake up from. I am finally realizing that I can’t be selfish. We should talk about them and celebrate their lives. Then at the same time move on with our own.
Moira starts crying. Thea gets out of her seat and walks towards the other side of the table to confront her mother. She hugs her mom.
THEA Everything will be okay. We can get
through this together. I love you.
MOIRA I love you too Thea, don’t ever
forget that. So, how about I look at this archery thing.
Thea walks towards her bag. She grabs the flier and hands it to her mother.
MOIRA You really want to do this?
THEA I want to do something. This could
be a good start. Moira signs the paper.
MOIRA I will be at every match.
THEA Thanks Mom.
Thea gives Moira an extra hug.
INT. MALCOLM’S HIDEOUT - NIGHT
Malcolm and Thea enter Malcolm’s hideout. It is an old run down building in the Glades. Inside the building has a rusted sign that says Merlyn Global Group wherehouse.
MALCOLM I know it is not the most homey
place in the world, but it is what I have called home for a couple of months now.
THEA In the Glades? Isn’t that a littleironic?
MALCOLM I love irony.
THEA What have you been doing all thistime?
MALCOLM Had some unfinished business with
some collegues of mine. Stayed with the League of Assassins for a while. They were there for me when I needed them the most. Then when I thought it was time I came back to Starling watching everything from the sidelines. I was watching over you Thea. Just like I always did when you were a child.
THEA Before we have this father/daugter
moment, I need to know. I came here for the truth. Why did you do it? Why did you kill all of those people?
MALCOLM I understand Thea. You must think I
am this monster, but you don’t know the full story. You were young but Tommy’s mother died in the Glades. She was always too soft and she payed for it. I never forgave myself for allowing her to go there and help the undeserving. The Glades needed to be leveled, destroyed to create a new.
THEA But in the process of avenging your
wife’s death, you killed Tommy. Your son and my brother.
Malcolm grabs Thea.
MALCOLM Tommy was like his mother in many
ways. He was too caring and that hurt him in the end. I see something different in you Thea. We are more alike than you think. Don’t you want to avenge your mother’s death? That all starts with the Hood.
THEA What does my mother’s death have to
do with the Hood? Slade is the one we have to go after. He is the one who killed my mother.
MALCOLM It is all connected Thea. The Hood
is connected to Slade, to your mother’s death. He is your first target.
THEA How do you expect me do anything
about the Hood? I am just a 19 year old girl who runs a night club.
MALCOLM Like I said I see a lot of myself
in you. I have been admiring you and how you have grown strong over the years. You will be a natural, I was.
Malcolm walks towards a black case that sits next to him on a long table. He opens the case and it reveals a bow and arrow.
He hands it to Thea.
MALCOLM This was my first bow I used in the
field. I have been waiting for this moment to give it you. Passing on the tradtion of the Dark Archer.
THEA You were the Dark Archer. I thought
he was a myth that the media created to make the Hood more interesting. You know every hero is only as great as his villain cliche.
MALCOLM There is a lot of things you don’t
know about me that I want to tell you about. The faliures and the successes. What do you say?
Thea stares at the bow for a couple of beats and grabs it into the palm of her hands.
EXT. ON FIELD AT STARLING CITY PREP (FLASHBACK)
Thea is facing her target. She has the bow and arrow in her hand. She takes a deep breath and hits a bullseye.
Mr. Winnick comes up to Thea.
MR. WINNICK Great shot Thea. We have never won
nationals, but I think we have a chance this year. Keep up with the great work. You are such a natural. You must have someone in your family that has great skill also.
THEA Thanks Mr. Winnick, but my family
are just millionaires with nothing to do. No archery talent but maybe just good at hitting the bullseye for the right stocks.
Thea aims for another shot as Mr. Winnick walks away.
Thea’s two friends SHANNON and KARA walk up to her and call out for her from the other side of the field.SHANNON
Shannon and Kara are now standing next to Thea. Thea puts down her bow to talk to her friends.
THEA What are you guys doing here?
KARA Thought we should hang out tonight.
Get drunk and have some fun.
THEA I would, but I have archery
practice until five and got to get (MORE)
THEA (cont’d) some work done tonight. Have a big
test in Coach Winnick’s class.
KARA Come on Thea, loosen up. It has
been since forever that we all hung out.
SHANNON Listen to Kara. You can take a
break for a night. The archery and books aren’t going any where.
KARA Come on Thea, lets have some fun
tonight! I know a club that we can get into.
THEA I guess you’re right. I will see
you guys after practice.
KARA See you then!
Shannon and Kara leave the field. Thea points her bow and arrow again to her target. She then shoots her arrow and gets a bullseye.FADE TO:
EXT. STARLING CITY ALLY WAY - NIGHT
Black Canary and The Hood are intergating a man dressed up in a crisp suit. Black Canary ties the business man’s hands up. He has no where to escape.
Oliver starts to shout.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Where is Malcom Merlyn?
BUSINESS MAN He is dead, last I heard.
THE HOOD/OLIVER You were business partners, maybe
even friends. You worked side by side with him. He is alive and you know it.
BUSINESS MAN If I knew he was alive I wouldn’t
be working a dead end job in a office cubicle would I? That’s what happens when people found out you worked for a terrorist. You masked people are crazy. Malcolm Merlyn is dead! There is no such thing as rising from the grave. He died when the Glades died.
Oliver pulls an arrow at aims at him.
THE HOOD/OLIVER This is no time for being sassy. Tell me where Malcolm is holding
Thea or else you die.
BUSINNES MAN Who is Thea? I don’t know what you
are talk about. Please just let me go I have a family. I only worked with Malcolm Merlyn because the money was good. I didn’t even know what he was planning with the Glades.
Oliver still points his arrow at the business man. Sara pulls Oliver aside.
BLACK CANARY/SARA You are not a killer Oliver. He
doesn’t know anything.
THE HOOD/ OLVIER This man worked side by side with
Malcolm Merlyn. He needs to know something. For Thea’s sake, he needs to know something! Why shouldn’t I kill him.
BLACK CANARY/SARA Because you are better than that.
THE HOOD/OLIVER If it was Laurel, you would have
killed him. You would have done anything to protect her.
BLACK CANARY/ SARA I am a killer. I spent years with the League of Assassins. I danced
with devil and got burned along the (MORE)
BLACK CANARY/ SARA (cont’d) way. There is no turning back for
me. You still have a light to you. If you kill this man you are no better than Slade.
Oliver lowers his bow.
BLACK CANARY/SARA Besides, maybe Malcolm thought it
would be too risky. He probably didn’t keep contact with anyone. That depends on if Slade is even telling us the truth about Malcolm. Don’t worry we will figure out another way. Lets go back to Felicity. Knowing her she has probably found something.
Sara and Oliver walk away with the man still hanging.
BUSSINESS MAN Aren’t you going to let me downfrom here?
Off screen Oliver shoots an arrow at the rope that tied the business man’s hands together.
The rope is cut and the man falls to the ground. The Business man says sarcasticallyBUSINESS MAN
INT. CHESHIRE’S HOME - NIGHT
Cheshire and Roy walk into Cheshire’s apartment. The apartment is clean, but with little decoration. It is a one bed room apartment.
She has an Alice and Wonderland poster hanging on her wall. It is worn.
Roy puts his stuff down on the couch.
ROY Nice place you got here.
CHESHIRE It makes due. Better than the place
I use to share with my dad.
ROY It’s weird, I am staying at your
place and I don’t know anything about you.
CHESHIRE I can say the same thing about you.
ROY Touche. How did you get into
becoming a vigitlante?
CHESHIRE We don’t like calling outselves
vigilanties. But the bussiness runs in the family. My father taught me everything I know.
ROY I am kind of new to all of this.
CHESHIRE That is a good thing. That means I
can teach you more and we can spend more quality time together.
ROY I am looking forward to that.
CHESHIRE You never told me what brought you
to Gotham. You said you wanted a new start, but what was so bad about your old life that you needed to leave it.
ROY Relationships got complicated. I
changed and saw a diferent perspective.
CHESHIRE All relationships are complicated,
that is how you learn which ones are worth sticking around for. You left someone you loved, didn’t you?
ROY How did you know?
CHESHIRE It is written all over your face.
ROY I didn’t want her to see the
monster I became. Had to leave her with good memories.
Roy pulls out his cell phone and shows a picture of him with Thea.
ROY She changed me for the better. We
brought out the best parts of each other.
CHESHIRE It seems like you care for her.
ROY How about you? What complicated
relationships was worth sticking around for?
CHESHIRE My family was a cluster of
complicated relationships, we don’t always see eye to eye. I have cut connections with my mother and sister. One day I just packed up my bag and went. Then met up with my dad. I chose the path I wanted to lead.
ROY That does sound complicated. What
happened to your mother and sister? If you don’t mind me asking?
CHESHIRE We just grew apart. Didn’t want

Cheshire leaves the room. Roy starts to take his stuff out of his duffle bag.
INT. ARROW CAVE - NIGHT
Digg, Sara, and Oliver are siting around Felicity while she is on her computer in a middle of a hack.
She slams her head on the key board. FELCIITY
Oww Felicity rubs her head and goes back to speaking.
FELICITY This is impossible. If Malcolm is
alive he took extra precautions not to be found. He hasn’t used any credit cards, which I figured he wouldn’t. But even the Starling City street cameras I could hack into don’t show a sign of him. He became a ghost.
SARA I still talk to some people from
the league. I know that Malcolm was (MORE)
SARA (cont’d) there before me, but maybe he went
there to hide out. The league are experts at staying hidden.
FELICITY That is a good idea. Speaking of,
did you guys find out any valuable information during your outing?
Sara and Oliver look at each other.
OLIVER All dead ends.
SARA But we got to beat some people up.
OLIVER At least that unleashed some
frustrations, but doesn’t help us find Thea.
FELICITY Thea, why didn’t I think about that
before? Felicity starts to type quickly on her computer.
FELICITY This whole time we have been
searching for Malcolm. The dead man who didn’t want to be found. We put ourselves on an impossible mission. But how hard could be it be to find a 19 year old girl.
SARA Can you track Thea’s cell phone?
She never goes anywhere without it.
FELICITY Already done.
A beeping light flashes on the computer.
FELICITY The red light is Thea. It looks
like they are in one of Malcolm’s old factories.
SARA Isn’t that a little obvious?
DIGG You know that Oliver’s first
hideout was in an old Queen Industries building that is now a nightclub, right?
OLIVER Always hide in plain site.
Oliver and Sara start to put their gear on.
DIGG What’s the plan?
OLIVER Thea has gone through so much pain.
Finding out Malcolm is her father and everything with my mother. I can’t imagine her pain. So, the plan is to keep her innocense in tact, but at the same time saving her from her biggest demon.
FELICITY You can’t hide the truth from her
OLIVER Doesn’t mean I can’t protect her.
She is the only family I have left. I can’t lose her. I won’t lose her.
SARA Don’t worry Ollie we will get her
back. Felicity hands Sara and Oliver two ear pieces.
FELCITY Malcom has been hiding for months.
You are going to have to sneak into the warehouse without him noticing. Digg and I will be able to be your eyes.
OLIVER Sara and I will go in the building.

FELICITY Lets go team arrow.
Everyone stares at Felicity.
FELICITY I guess this wasn’t the right time

Oliver picks up his bow and leaves the cave with Sara. Digg loads his gun. Felicity follows.
INT. SLADE’S OFFICE - NIGHT
Slade is sitting in his office chair. Looking at the television screen where the newly elected Mayor, Sebastian Blood, is giving a press conference.
SEBASTIAN BLOOD (on television) Good Evening Starling. I have many plans for our shinning emerald city. We have gone through so much with the destruction of the Glades and the death Moira Queen.
Isabel walks into Slade’s office. Slade turns off the television.
ISABEL Oliver found out were Malcolm
Merlyn is hiding.
SLADE I am guessing the bug worked. I
planted it there when I trashed their hideout.
ISABEL Oliver did all the heavy lifting
for us. It would have taken us a lot longer to find Malcolm.
SLADE Everything is going according to
plan. Oliver and everyone around (MORE)
SLADE (cont’d) him have become my pawns. I just
have to call check mate.
EXT. MALCOLM’S HIDEOUT - NIGHT
Black Canary and the Hood are on a motorcycle riding down the street. They stop their vehicle once they get find Malcolm’s hideout. They go towards the side of the building to find an opening.
CLOSE UP to Diggle at vantage point with sniper in hand. He gets sees Malcolm Merlyn through the window. He is talking to Thea. He aims to get a clear shot of Malcolm Merlyn.
Diggle talks into his bluetooth.
DIGGLE I am in place. I have a shot ofhim.
Black Canary and The Hood try to find a way to get into the building.
After searching for a few moments.
BLACK CANARY/SARA There is no secure way to get in. Call Felicity to tell her we need
an opening. Oliver uses his Bluetooth to call Felicity.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Felicity, everyone is in place. Do
you see a way to get in.
INTERCUT -- PHONE CONVERSATION
Felicity sits in a van in front of her computer. She has her Bluetooth in her ear as she responds to Oliver.
FELICITY I am looking. There is no way to
get in. You might have to make your own opening.
THE HOOD/OLIVER My own opening?
FELICITY I made a few improvements with your
arrows. Look in your quiver. Oliver digs in his quiver to find a new trick arrow.
THE HOOD/OLIVER You know I make my own trick
FELICITY Like I said I made a couple of
improvements. Malcolm has high security around the building. Your old arrows would have never broken this material. My arrows do.
Oliver puts the arrow on the drawstring of his bow. He shots it at the wall. The explosion hardly makes a noise.
FELCIITY I also added a stealth factor.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Remind me to allow you to build all
of my inventory.
Black Canary and The Hood walk into the new opening of the building.
INT. MALCOLM’S HIDEOUT - NIGHT
Malcolm sets up a new round of rice bags for Thea’s target practice. The rice bags have a small red target drawn on them.
Thea puts a new arrow into her bow. She aims for the shot and gets a bullseye.
Malcolm smiles at Thea and gives her a slow round of applause.
MALCOLM Paint me impressed. I am guessing
those archery lessons really did help. I was there at your competitions. You may have not seen me, but I was there. I am proud of you Thea.
Thea doesn’t say anything, but gives Malcolm a soft smile.
To disturb the sentimental moment. An explosive arrow almost hits Malcolm in the arm. Malcolm is able to dodge the attack. No one gets hurt from the blast.
MALCOLM How did you find me? Come on don’t
be scared, step out of the dark. Black Canary and The Hood both step into the room.
The Hood and Black Canary both put on their devices to manipulate their voices.
Oliver aims his bow at Malcolm.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Why did you kidnap Thea Queen?
MALCOLM Why did you put an arrow through mychest?
THE HOOD/ OLIVER You needed to be stopped for the
sake of Starling City. Now answer my question, Why did you kidnap Thea Queen?
MALCOLM You idiot, I didn’t kidnap Thea.
She came willingly.
The Hood stands their in silence for a beat. He looks at Thea. The Hood still has his bow aimed at Malcolm, and doesn’t put it down.
THE HOOD/OLIVER You destroyed the Glades, and
killed your son. How can you live with yourself?
MALCOLM By knowing I have kin, that can
take over my work. Thea helps me keep on living.
BLACK CANARY/ SARA You killed your son! Why would you
care about kin?
MALCOLM Tommy was weak and he would have
never had it in him to do the (MORE)
MALCOLM (cont’d) things I do. I can train Thea to
take over my mantle. I see many things in her that I see in myself.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Thea is nothing like you. She isnot a killer!
Malcolm turns to Thea. Who still has the bow in her hand and quiver on her back.
MALCOLM Remember what I told you Thea. The
Hood is your true enemy. Thea doesn’t move or say anything.
MALCOLM Kill him and you will honor your
mother! You will gain justice in her death.
Thea gets an arrow out of her quiver. She slowly puts the arrow on the drawstring of her bow. She aims for the hood.FADE TO:
EXT. STARLING CITY CLUB - NIGHT (FLASHBACK)
Thea, Kara, and Shannon walk out of the Starling City Night Club. Thea in the middle, drunkenly hugging both Kara and Shannon.
Shannon looks green and runs out of the hug lock. She goes to the side of the street and throws up.
Thea and Kara go towards Shannon to help her.
Thea holds Shannon’s hair back as she continues to vomit on the side of the road.
THEA Are you okay?
Shannon throws up again.
SHANNON I feel so sick.
KARA She will be fine.
Shannon gets back up. The girls drunkenly walk down the street. They pass a sleeping homeless man. Kara starts to laugh at him.
KARA Do you still have your archery
stuff Thea? I have a funny idea.
THEA Yeah I had to bring it with me that
way my mom wouldn’t catch me going out.
She pulls out her equipment.
KARA You see that homeless man. Aim at
him and see what he does. It would be hilarious. He will probably freak out.
SHANNON Come on you are totally drunk. We
shouldn’t do this. How about if she misses and hurts the poor guy?
KARA Thea never misses.
Thea gets her bow and aims for the can next to the homeless man. She tries to concentrate even in her drunken state.
Kara starts to laugh. The homeless man is still sleeping and doesn’t notice what is happening around him. Thea still has the arrow in her hand.
KARA Come on Thea!
Thea lets go of the arrow. She hits the can as promised. The homless man wakes up startled from the loud noise. He begins yelling at the top of his lungs.
HOMELESS MAN Incoming! Incoming! Incoming! Get
down men. Get down! Get in out ditch! Get down!
Kara, Shannon, and Thea are all started at the chaos they created. They stand still and can only watch the man out of control.
As he creates more noice. He tries to dive out of the way. He lands on a sharp metal object in the fence. It pierces his stomach.
KARA Oh my God. Shit! Thea, what did you
do? Kara starts to cry hysterically.
Shannon comes closure to the homeless man to help him out. The man is screaming from the pain. He can’t move.
SHANNON Come on guys, help me. This is all
our fault and we need to help the man. It could be severly hurt.
KARA No, this had nothing to do with me.
He is some crazy guy and he did this to himself. I am getting out of here, and if you girls were smart you would follow me.
Kara runs away.
SHANNON Thea. This man is bleeding out.
Come here. We have to bring him to a hospital.
Thea looks at Kara running away and than stares and the man dieing in Shannon’s arms.
THEA I’ll call an ambulance.
Thea dials 911 on her phone and puts the phone to her ear.
DISPATCHER (V.O.) 9-1-1 state your emergency.
THEA There is a man he fell and he is
seriously injured. I think he is bleeding out.
DISPATCHER (V.O.) Excuse me, mam, where are you?
THEA A block away from the Starling City
Night Club. Please hurry!
DISPATCHER (V.O.) The ambulance should be there soon. I am going to keep you on the phone
for a little while to keep you calm. Is that okay?
THEA Where the ambulance?
DISPATCHER You were brave to stop and help. We
need heroes like you. Not many girls would stop at this kind of scene.
Thea hears the sirens in the background.
THEA I think the ambulance is here.
DISPATCHER Okay, I am going to hang up now.
You might have saved a life tonight.
Thea hangs up and has tears running down her face.
The ambulance pulls up to the man. Shannon and Thea walk to paramedics.
THEA Is he going to be okay.
The paramedic puts the man on the gurny.
PARAMEDIC We can’t know until we bring him to
the hospital. Don’t worry we will do everything we can. Thanks for the help.
The paramedic puts the man in the ambulance. The girls wait together and the ambulance drives away.
EXT. FIELD AT STARLING CITY PREP - DAY (FLASHBACK)
Thea walks across the field to find Mr. Winick helping out the other girls on the archery team.
MR. WINICK Glad to see you hear Thea.
Mr. Winnick looks confused and stops for a beat.
MR. WINICK Why aren’t you in your uniform?
THEA I came here to tell you that I am
quitting the team.
MR. WINICK Quitting the team? But Thea you are
our best player. Nationals are in a week. We need you.
THEA I am sorry, but this is personal. I
need to quit the team. I hope you can understand.
MR. WINICK Wish I could convince you
otherwise, but I guess I understand. If you need anyone to talk to I will be here for you.
Thea puts her bow back in her black case and hands it to Mr. Winnick.
LONG SHOT shows Thea going across the field walking away from Mr. Winick.
Mr Winick start to help the other girls again.
INT. MALCOLM’S HIDEOUT - NIGHT
Thea still has her bow in her hand. She aims for The Hood. Malcolm continues to yell at Thea.
MALCOLM Shoot Him!
Thea is still aiming at the Hood, but is not taking the shot.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Thea you don’t want to do this.
Tears roll down Thea’s face.
THEA And why is that?
THE HOOD/OLIVER Because I know you are not this
person. You wouldn’t kill anyone.
THEA You don’t even know me. Why risk
your life for me?
THE HOOD/OLIVER I know you better than you think.
Oliver takes the voice manipulation off.
THE HOOD/OLIVER You are my sister.
Oliver puts his hood down. Thea looks shocked.
Thea puts her bow down. She drops it to the floor.
OLIVER I am sorry I never told you.
MALCOLM Tisk Tisk. See Thea your brother
has been lying about half his life. Just adding up to more lies he told you since his return to Starling City.
OLIVER Merlyn, You knew I was the Hood.
You could have told her the truth at anytime, but you didn’t. Your just manipulating Thea. You don’t actually care for her. You used her for your own vendetta against me. You didn’t even have the guts to kill me youself.
Thea turns towards Malcolm.
THEA You knew!
MALCOLM I was going to tell you Thea. Just
had to find the right time. I wanted to tell you delicately. I didn’t want to hurt you when you found out that your brother was a killer.
OLIVER I don’t kill anymore. On the island
I had to kill to survive. I learned after your son’s death that there is a difference between killing and justice. It took me a long time to figure out that difference. I honor Tommy’s death by not being a killer I once was. I am a symbol for Starling City. I stop men like you!
MALCOLM How is that going for you, Oliver?
You are allowing Slade run around Starling City. The man who killed your mother.
Malcolm turns to Thea.
MALCOLM Oliver is not your bother. He is
your true enemy because the Hood and Oliver are one in the same. He deserves to die for eveything he has put you through.
Black Canary runs towards Malcolm. She takes out her batons and start to attack Malcolm. They go into hand to hand combat with each other.
In the midst of the fight. Black Canary turns to Oliver. BLACK CANARYGet Thea!
MALCOLM Thea, kill him!
Malcolm and Black Canary continue their fight.
Oliver walks towards Thea. Thea scrambles for her bow and quiver. She puts the bow and arrow back in her hands. She aims towards Oliver.
Oliver puts his hands in the air. He has his bow on his back.
OLIVER Please Thea I understand that you
are angry. Oliver steps even closure to Thea.
Thea releases the arrow. It passes over Oliver’s shoulder.
OLIVER Umm... Thea I think you missed.
THEA I never miss.
Oliver looks over his shoulder.
The arrow was aimed for a power box behind Malcolm. The electricity shocked Malcolm. Malcolm hits the ground. Black Canary lies over Malcolm’s body.
OLIVER Nice shot.
Black Canary gets her bow staff around Malcolm’s neck. Ready to kill him.
OLIVER Sara, What are you doing?
BLACK CANARY/SARA He killed Tommy. He deserves to die. He was our friend. Laurel,
Tommy, me, and you were inseperable growing up. We would go over Tommy’s house after school while Malcolm acted so innocent. He gave us cookies and allowed us to watch TV late. But he was never innocent. It was all an act. He deserves to die for killing our friend.
OLIVER We don’t do that anymore, Sara.
BLACK CANARY/SARA You don’t do that anymore. I am
still an assassin. I made a vow to dedicate my life to killing people.
OLIVER Please not in front of Thea. He is
still her father.
THEA Oliver is right, not because
Malcolm is my father, but because he is not worth it. I thought being with Malcolm would fill up a part of me that was missing. But I realize that Malcolm wasn’t the answer. We couldn’t save mom or Tommy. Nothing we do are going to bring them back to us. We just have to live our lives through them. Mom and Tommy wouldn’t want this for us.
Sara looks Malcolm in the face. Sara lets go of Malcolm. He falls to the ground.
BLACK CANARY/SARA Malcolm was wrong, you are nothing
like him. You may be able to shot arrows like your brother and father, but you still have a pure heart. Remember no matter what happens or what you go through keep that pure heart. It is something I wish I still had, but I lost that perspective a long time ago.
Black Canary, The Hood, and Thea hear police sirens in the distance.
THE HOOD/OLIVER Feicilty must have called thepolice.
Quentin and several other police officers in his sqaud walk into the building. They have their guns pointed at Malcolm, who still dazed on the ground.
Quentin gets his hand cuffs out of his belt to arrest Malcolm.
QUENTIN I can’t believe your alive and you
are going to get your justice you son of a bitch.
Quentin hands off Malcolm to the other officers. Quentin turns to the Hood and Black Canary.
QUENTIN I am guessing you guys had
something to do with this.
BLACK CANARY Actually we couldn’t have done this
QUENTIN Nice work kid. We are going to
bring him the precinct and hopefully he can than rot in jail.
INT. HOSPITAL - DAY (FLASHBACK)
Thea still in her school uniform walks to the front desk. A nurse is sitting behind the desk. She hands a clipboard to the person next to her.
NURSE Can you bring this to room 206.
The nurse turns to Thea.
NURSE Can I help you with something?
THEA I brought a man in here yesterday.
I don’t know his name, but I was wondering if I would be able to see him.
NURSE Yes our John Doe. He is in room 3.
You can just walk in, but to let you know he hasn’t woken up yet.
THEA Is he going to be okay?
NURSE We are not sure. He lost a lot of
blood and the arrow hit some vital organs. You didn’t see what happened?
THEA We just saw him like that when we
walked by the club. Must have been some stupid drunk kids.
NURSE People these days. They can be socruel.
THEA Yeah, I know.
Thea starts to walk away from the desk.
THEA Thank you.
Thea walks past two rooms before she sees room 3. The man lays there with an oxygen mask over his face and IV tube in his wrist. There are bandages around where Thea hit her arrow in his stomach.
Thea looks around the hospital room. Watching all the equipment attached to the man.
After roaming around the room, Thea pulls up a chair next to the man. She sits in silence for a few beats.
THEA I don’t know what to say or even if
I should say anything. Can you even hear me? Anyways, I need to get this off my chest. (beat) I am sorry for being so stupid. If I was sober I probably wouldn’t have ever listened to Kara. I should have never listened to her stupidity. I still haven’t heard from her since the incident yesterday. I hurt an innocent man.
A shot of the man stuggling to breathe through his oxygen mask.
THEA I quit the archery team today. I
don’t know if that will help the situation. But after this I can’t even look at a bow and arrow anymore.
A beat passes.
THEA I lost my brother and father a
couple of months ago. I was really close to my brother and it is hard to come home every day and not see him. He use to have this stupid nickname for me, Speedy, because I would always follow him around as a kid. I looked up to him.
Thea stops and looks at the man.
THEA I don’t think he would be proud of
me now. Where do I go from here? Can I even be a better person after this?
Thea stops talking to the man when he starts to flat line. The doctor and nurses come running into the room as they hear the machine go off.
DOCTOR Mam, you have to wait outside.
THEA What’s happening? Is he going todie?
DOCTOR Please mam!
Thea does what she is told and waits outside the room. She watches from the other side of the glass window as the doctor and nurses try to save the man’s life.
After a minute of cardiac recitation the man is still flat lining. Thea hears the doctor call the time.
DOCTOR Call it, 4:33 PM.
The doctor walks out of the room and comforts Thea. He puts his hand on her shoulder.
DOCTOR I am sorry for your loss. He hung
in there as long as he could.
The doctor leaves. The other nurses leave the patient and follow the doctor to go to the next room.
Thea still watches from the glass window. Sees the man dead on the table. Tears run down Thea’s face. Thea whispers to herself.
THEA I am sorry.FADE OUT:
INT. CHESHIRE’S HOME - NIGHT Roy starts to put his stuff away. Cheshire helps him.
CHESHIRE What made you so strong?
ROY It is a long story.
CHESHIRE I just want to know if you are in
my league. I may not have super strength, but I can be a very valuable player.
ROY It is called Mirakuru. I was
injected with it and right after I got these powers. It has a lot of perks besides the temper tantrums.
CHESHIRE Hold that thought, Have to make
this call. You get yourself settled and we can talk more about how to put those temper tantrums in good use.
She starts to seduce Roy and puts her cell phone in her hand.
ROY Sounds perfect.
Roy continues to put his clothes away. Cheshire has her cell phone in her hand and walks into a separate room. She closes the door and dials a number on her cell phone.
CHESHIRE Hello father.
INTERCUT -- PHONE CONVERSATION
Sportsmaster is in an office. He talks on his phone with his daughter.
SPORTSMASTER Hello daughter. How is your prey?
CHESHIRE He is opening up much easier than Iexpected.
SPRORTSMASTER You gave him the sob story I taughtyou right?
CHESHIRE How do you think I made him open
up. I even got him to tell me about the mirakuru.
SPORTSMASTER Good, keep me posted.
Sportsmaster hears a dial tone.
INT. DEATHSTROKE’S OFFICE Sportsmaster hangs up with his daughter.
Sportsmaster was in a corner of the office while speaking to his daughter. He walks towards the main desk in the middle of the room.
There is a black leather chair facing backwards. The chair spins around and it is revealed to be Slade sitting in the chair.
SLADE Did you talk to your daughter?
SPORTSMASTER Yes sir. She has Roy. They are at
our apartment right now. She is getting him comfortable.
SLADE We can use him on our team as we
take Oliver and all of Starling City down.
SPORTSMASTER He is going to be part of the crew?
SLADE Don’t be silly. He is just a pawn,
but I need him out of the way. If he learns how to control his strength he can be a threat that I don’t need in this fight.
SPORTSMASTER My daughter will keep himdistracted.
SLADE That’s the plan. Did your daughterget the gun?
SPORTSMASTER She called me earlier to tell me
that the mission was a success. Why is it so important to you, anyways?
SLADE It is not the gun that is
important, but what is in the gun. STAR Labs has been creating a cure for the mirakuru. The only person who could fund such a thing is Wayne Industries.
SPRTSMASTER Why would STAR Labs create a cure?
SLADE Because Oliver Queen asked them
too. He wants to stop me. He believes with the cure he can change my motives. He is going to have to learn that killing me will be the only way to stop me.
INT. APARTMENT IN GOTHAM
PAULA CROOK of asian descent sits in her wheelchair as she watches television.
Her daughter ARTEMIS CROOK is on the computer. She wears a Gotham Prep uniform. She is finishing her homework. She types on her computer and continues to write in her notebook.
PAULA How is the homework going, Artemis.
ARTEMIS I am almost finished mom.
PAULA I am glad. We can watch some
television, and spend some quality time with each other.
Artemis puts the word document she was working on at the bottom of her screen. She starts to watch security footage of Cheshire killing the guards.
Paula wheels by Artemis and sees that Artemis is watching the footage.
PAULA What is that? You are suppose to be
doing your homework. You know how hard it was for me to get you into Gotham Prep with our financial situation. You need to keep your scholarship.
ARTEMIS I know mom, but I think I foundJade.
Artemis pushes her computer towards her mother to show her the security footage.
Paula slams the computer towards the floor.
PAULA I told you to stop looking for your
sister. She made the decision to go with her father. She left us in the middle of the night to continue being a criminal.
ARTEMIS She is still family. I know you
want to protect me from the family business. Dad trained us, but you instilled values into me after your accident. Maybe if someone reached out to Jade she will remember those values.
PAULA I had to make sacrifices because of
your father. She shakes her wheelchair to prove a point.
PAULA I don’t want you to have to make
the same sacrifices.
ARTEMIS Mom, I promise I am not going to
get myself in trouble. I am going to a good school, made friends, and I finally have a normal life. I am not going to ruin that.
Paula gives Artemis her computer back. The laptop is open and the video is still playing.
The video shows Cheshire killing the last guard.
PAULA I don’t want you to end up like
your sister because of our family’s mistakes.
Artemis closes the video and continues to work on her paper for school.
INT. INTERRAGATION ROOM - NIGHT
Quentin puts Malcolm in the interagation room. He is handcuffed to the table. Laurel walks into the room. When Quentin sees her walk in he pulls her to the side.
QUENTIN What are you doing here, Laurel?
LAUREL I am here to convinct MalcolmMerlyn.
QUENTIN You really think you should be
doing this? Are you ready to do this?
LAUREL I am the only person who can do
this. Laurel sits across from the hancuffed Malcolm Merlyn.
LAUREL Good to see you alive. I rather you
suffer for your crimes. For killing Tommy!
MALCOLM Tommy was weak. You were one of his
LAUREL You know you will be going to jail
for a very long time.
MALCOLM I have lost so much. My revenge, my
daughter, everything. I am ready to admit my crimes.
LAUREL You are not going to get less time
in jail for confessing. You know that right? You murdered hundreds of people that night. I have every intention of seeking the death penalty. I can do that you know?
MALCOLM I know the consequences. Maybe I
just want to do the right thing for my daughters sake. I want to tell the truth.
LAUREL Thea will never forgive you. This
city will never forget what you did. Now state your crimes.
Malcolm looks straight to the camera that is recording their conversation.
MALCOLM I Malcolm Merlyn am a murderer. I
am the killer of the Glades. I have killed hundreds of innoncent people. I pretended to be dead to escape my crimes. I killed my only son and I am dead to my daughter. The love of my life is dead. I have nothing to live for. I am saying I am guilty.
LAUREL Why did you do it Malcolm?
MALCOLM For my wife. I wanted to level the
glades. They killed her because of her weakness, and they got what they deserved.
LAUREL Thank you Malcolm, that is all I
need. Laurel gets out of her seat.
As Laurel walks out a few beats pass. Kate Spencer the new DA walks into the room.
Malcolm still sits chained. Kate turns off the camera.
KATE Glad to see you again Malcolm.
MALCOLM Yes it has been a while, Kate.
KATE You will be getting your due.
Kate grabs Malcolm by the hand. She slips him a small pill and walks out of the room.
KATE Take him to solitary!
INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT
Kate Spencer walks out of the interrogation room. She walks towards Laurel who is talking to Quentin by his desk.
KATE Good Job Laurel. With the Merlyn
case I can see your career going very far.
LAUREL Thank you, mam.
Kate walks away from Laurel.
Laurel and Quentin surround Thea. She sits in the chair next to them with a brown coat over her shoulders.
Laurel puts her hand of Thea’s shoulder.
LAUREL I am sure you must be shaken up.
Are you okay to be home tonight? You know you can always stay with me if you don’t want to be alone.
THEA Oliver is going to stay with me
tonight. Anyways, I will be fine. Malcolm didn’t hurt me. He thought he could convince me of something I didn’t believe in. I am just glad happy to see that he will be put away.
QUENTIN You are strong girl, Thea. You did
Thea takes off Quentin’s brown coat that was over her shoulders. She starts to get up.
QUENTIN I just want to let you know that in
the next couple of days you might be called to the police department a couple more times. You were on the site where we found Malcolm. The police are going to want to interview you about what happened tonight. The court case will be in a couple of days and you will have to be a witness.
THEA Whatever I have to do for this
nightmare to be over I will do it.
EXT. LAUREL’S APARTMENT -NIGHT
Quentin and Laurel are walking to the front door of Laurel’s apartment.
QUENTIN Hun, I am really proud of how you
kept your composure in front of Malcolm tonight.
LAUREL The important thing is that he will
be in a jail cell tonight. He doesn’t deserve to live another comfortable day. His trial is going to be in a few days. I have a feeling he will suffer that fate that he deserves. Hopefully this can help begin the healing process for Starling City.
QUENTIN Does that include you Laurel?
LAUREL I think I have already healed.
Laurel takes out her keys from her bag and opens her door. Sara is on the couch watching the news.
NEWSCASTER Malcolm Merlyn tonight was stated
to still be alive. The police now has him in custody for his crimes to the Glades...
Once Sara hears Laurel and Quentin walk in the door she turns off the television.
SARA I just heard you guys come in. Saw
on news about what happened with Malcolm tonight. Is Thea okay?
QUENTIN She is going to be fine. She is
just a little shaken up by the whole situation.
SARA Glad to hear she is doing okay.
QUENTIN If it wasn’t for the Black Canary
and the Hood I don’t think we would have ever figured out that Malcolm Merlyn was still alive. They did a great job tonight.
SARA Yes they really helped out the citytonight.
LAUREL You know you guys can stop talking
in third person in front of me.
SARA What are you talking about Laurel?
LAUREL I know you are the Black Canary.
You helped save this city. Not just tonight, but every night.
SARA How did you find out?
LAUREL I am a lawyer Sara. I was able to
patch everything together. The Black Canary saved me countless times. I just can’t believe I didn’t figure it out sooner. I noticed the scars on your back and they were a hint of your extra-curricular activities.
SARA I am sorry I never told you. I
never wanted you or dad to see that side of me.
QUENTIN We can never understand what you
went through, but we will always accept you Sara. No matter what happens.
LAUREL What made you come back to Starling
City when you did?
SARA Do to protect my family. To protect
you guys. The League of Assassins were out for me. I needed to make sure you were safe.
LAUREL Who are the League of Assassins?
SARA They were a group of people I
joined when I was gone, my family. I changed my identity to be with(MORE)
SARA (cont’d) them. The League took care of me
when I needed it the most. They turned me into the woman I am today and I am not going to say I am proud of it.
LAUREL I am proud of it. I hope one day
you can completely open up to us and tell us what happened. We were broken when we thought you were dead.
SARA I can never tell you Laurel what
happened to me the six years I was missing. I had to go through some dark things to survive. I met a lot of bad people.
LAUREL You are a hero now and that is the
only thing that is important. You brought Malcolm Merlyn to justice. The man who killed our friend.
SARA Coming from you Laurel, that meansalot.
QUENTIN No more secrets. Let the Lance’s be
a family again. The three have hug each other.
Sara phone rings.
SARA I have to take this. The Black
Canary is needed.
She starts to put her Black Canary outfit on. She leaps out of the window.
INT. ARROW CAVE - NIGHT
Sara walks in the room and joins the conversation with the rest of the team.
OLIVER Thanks for coming Sara. Wanted you
to be here for Thea’s introduction to the arrow cave.
Thea starts to look at the glass case that holds Oliver’s costume. Oliver walks up to her as Felciity, Digg, and Sara have a separate conversation in the background.
THEA I still can’t believe that this
place was under Verdant this whole time. How did I not notice it?
OLIVER We were pretty good at hiding it,
but I am glad that you are seeing it now.
THEA Frat Boy millionaire to modern day
Robin Hood. What made you become the Hood?
OLIVER The island, it changed me. I wasn’t
the only one that it changed. Oliver looks at Sara talking to Felicity and Digg.
OLIVER I became a new person. When I came
back to Starling I had a mission, Redeem dad’s name. But I don’t want to go into detail about the wrongs he did as a business man. Just like mom he did the things he did for the sake of this family.
Oliver hands Thea a small book with a list of people.
OLIVER He wrote this list and they became
my targets. Until I realized that the people on this list wasn’t the true war I was fighting because I didn’t believe in the cause. My cause was to help the innocent, people like Tommy. I needed to protect my city.
THEA So, where do we go from here?
OLIVER You are good Thea, really good. But
this life isn’t for you. It was one of the reasons I kept this whole thing a secret from you.
THEA That isn’t your decision Ollie. You
said you fight this fight because of Tommy. Tommy, my brother, died in this madness. Some people might want revenge, I don’t want that. I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I had to go through. That will be my mission. The thing that will drive me.
OLIVER There is no stopping you. Is thereSpeedy?
THEA I guess not.
OLIVER You are obviously great with a bow
and arrow. But you are going to need some help in combat training.
Sara, Felciity, and Digg walk towards Oliver and Thea.
SARA I can help her train. It would be
nice to have some girl power in the cave. Because you know we are much stronger than the boys. Right girls?
Felicity and Thea give Sara a smile.
THEA Does this make me an official
member of Team Arrow?
FELICITY I should really start making badges
for our team. I am glad that the name Team Arrow is sticking.
OLIVER We are still not called that.
DIGG I like it.
THEA It has a nice ring to it.
OLIVER Fine, Team Arrow it is.FELICITY
Next shot has Thea putting on her new costume. It is similar to Oliver’s costume but has a mix of yellow and red.
As Thea puts her costume on.
SARA We all have a code name. What are
you going to be called Thea? Thea puts the yellow hood over her head.
THEA I thought Speedy would be a good
fit. I guess I am going to still be following you around Ollie.
OLIVER Don’t you think yellow and red are
a little too flashy for the the vigilante scene.
THEA I like flashy. We have to show the
city we are symbol. Not hide in the shadows like Malcolm and Slade.
FELICITY Guys sorry to ruin this sentimental
moment, but I think you should all see this.
Everyone walks closure to Felicity who is in front of the computer screen watching a survalence video.
As everyone surrounds Felicity they watch the black and white security footage of a hooded man and a woman with a white cat like mask on.
They watch as the woman kills the guards on the security footage. The two figures walk away with a stolen gun. They walk off screen.
THEA Is that Roy?
FELICITY I think so.
OLIVER It definitely looks like him.
THEA Who is that woman he is with?
FELICITY The footage is from a building in
Gotham City. He must have met her there.
DIGG Looks like we are going on a fieldtrip.
FELICITY I never been to Gotham City, but
not like I ever wanted to go there either.
THEA Let’s go find Roy!
Black Canary and Oliver suit up. Thea picks up her bow and quiver. They walk off together out of the Arrow Cave.
INT. JAIL CELLL - NIGHT
Malcolm sits in his jail cell. He wears a orange jump suit. No one shares a cell with him.
He lies on his bed and looks at the cieling. He takes out the pill Kate Spencer gave him earlier.
He opens his mouth and swollows. A couple of beats later he starts to sieze.
The correctional officer opens the cell to see what has happened to Malcolm.
He feels his wrist for a pulse.
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER He is dead.
